Coalinga Middle School Expanded Learning Program is an entirely free program open to all Coalinga Middle School Students grades 6th-8th. Our program runs 15 hours per week, Monday-Friday from 3:00 pm-6:00 pm. Coalinga Middle School ELP is based on four components: tutorial, snack, supper, and enrichment.
Starting this year we will only be accepting online applications. You can find our application by clicking the link found at the bottom. You and your student must also attend the mandatory Parent-Student meeting that is required for enrollment.
Coalinga Middle School ELP provides a daily hour focused on academics to complete assignments, practice reading skills, typing skills, and receive tutoring on multiple subjects. Students have ready access to iPads, printers, WI-FI, and other materials and supplies needed to complete assignments.
Enrichment classes are designed to reach student interests and needs while still providing and enhancing motor and social skills. Lesson plans help support common core standards to ensure quality enrichment classes align with regular school day learning standards.
Free field trips are also offered to students. Students who can participate in field trips are based on academic achievement of no more than one F and at least a 2.0 GPA in the regular school day, high participation in ELP, and good behavior.
